FAQs

  • Online Courses: Currently we offer self-paced courses for guitar and ukulele. We will be adding more instrument courses in the near future—including a general music theory course and a bass guitar course.

Live Lessons: For in-person or Zoom lessons, we teach guitar, drums, ukulele, and bass guitar.

  • Absolutely! These lessons start at the very beginning, and no prior knowledge of the instrument (or of music in general) is needed. We’ll build your skills from scratch—one simple step at a time!

  • These lessons work best for ages 8 and up. Younger students (7-8 years old) sometimes find it easier to start on the ukulele, and then pick up the guitar after about a year or so.

Most of our students are between 8 and 25 years old. But we also have students as young as 7, and as “seasoned” as 70! Because the lessons follow a well-defined, step-by-step learning path, they can be easily followed and enjoyed by both kids and adults.

  • The lessons start at the most basic level, but we do not stay there! Even if you’ve been playing music for years, these courses will take you to the next level, and you’ll dive deep into the advanced stages of playing. Our goal is for you to truly master the instrument and become a well-rounded, versatile musician.

  • Both methods offer unique advantages, and both provide a life-enriching, positive experience…

Our online courses are great for students who want a cost-effective option that doesn’t include travel or potential schedule conflicts. Students learn on their own time, at their own pace, and they can access all the lessons whenever and wherever they wish. These online lessons are exactly what I teach my in-person students, so it has the same look and feel as a 1-on-1 lesson with me in my personal studio.

Live lessons are great for students who want real-time feedback, accountability, and support. We offer in-person lessons in our Lexington, KY studio, or real-time Zoom lessons wherever you are! These lessons can be tailored to each student’s learning style, providing a highly personalized, uplifting experience.

P.S. Did you know you don’t have to choose one or the other? A la carte live lessons can be added to the online courses as needed, offering you the best of both worlds.
